Motor Hierarchy
S2C Motor Hierarchy
If you’re new to S2C you are probably wondering (among many other things) “Is there a reason why you use one letterboard over another? How do you know when a student should switch boards?” The answer to those questions are: Yes - there is a hierarchy! And - please click below for a BRIEF overview of what markers we look for before increasing motor demands, ie changing boards. Please bear in mind that every student is unique and this pdf in no way replaces the valuable clinical input of a trained S2C Practitioner working directly with you & your child. She/he is an expert advisor on when to make these transitions successful for your student. A word of caution: spelling mistakes breed more mistakes… moving too quickly up this hierarchy can create bad motor habits and delay fluency. Slow and steady wins the race!
